PART III: glogster IN THE CLASSROOM
Because Glogster provides a way to create a digital poster, the possibilities are endless for what students can accomplish! Glogster functions like a collage of information, images, video, and links to great resources! Most importantly, Glogster provides students with active engagement and can help increase digital literacy.
PART IV: HOW TO GET STARTED
INTERNET ACCESSYou must have internet access to create a glog. If your school does not have a 1:1 technology initiative for students, allow your students to bring their own devices so that they can access the internet.
Glogster ACCOUNTBoth the teacher and student need a FREE Glogster EDU account. However, students do not need to set up their individual accounts. The teacher can create generate student accounts through their account.
PurposeOnce you have created your account, explore Glogster EDU's "Glogpedia." This is the site's gallery for displaying public glogs that have been categorized by subject area. There is also a section devoted to various templates that are available to use. Browsing through glogs that have already been created can help you to define the educational purpose behind the task of creating digital posters in your classroom. Using templates available through the site can help your students put together their first glogs with fewer headaches than if they were to create a glog from scratch.

PART V: MY THOUGHTS ON glogster
While creating a glog can be time consuming, I believe that it is a worthwhile tech tool to look into and implement into your classroom. Similar to creating a cardboard poster with several resources used for information, Glogster EDU allows for students to access the same information but use it in a digital format. I really like Glogster EDU because it allows students the opportunity to demonstrate their learning in a more creative manner than by the traditional paper-pencil format.
One of the biggest things to consider when implementing Glogster is to make sure that you monitor the information that your students are accessing. Glogster has two sites: 1) Glogster and 2) Glogster EDU, however, the first site is open to the public and could contain public glogs with content that is not suitable for a school setting. Which is why, I HIGHLY recommend using Glogster EDU in your classroom.
I also recommend taking the time to experiment with the features of the site so that you can better assist your students the first time that you implement Glogster into your classroom. The first time accessing the site, students may go into information overload, so it is important that you are confident in your understanding of creating a glog.
Overall, I like the 21st century digital way of creating posters. Give it try!
