PART III: Weebly IN THE CLASSROOM
Using Weebly for education to create a website can be a highly rewarding experience for both the teacher and students. The teacher can create informational sites and provide resources directly to students. Students can create websites to demonstrate their knowledge of a concept and display their work for an entire community.
PART IV: HOW TO GET STARTED
INTERNET ACCESSIn order to access Weebly for education, you must have internet access. If your school does not have a 1:1 technology initiative for students, allow your students to bring their own devices so that they can access the internet.
weebly ACCOUNTYou must create a FREE Weebly for education account in order to create your own site. However, students do not need to set up their individual accounts. The teacher can create generate student accounts through their account.
PURPOSEPrior to designing your website, it is important to consider how and why you want to use this resource with and for students. Are you planning to post assignments on your site? Will students create their own sites? How often will the sites be maintained and updated? Is this a resource that you plan to use frequently? Maintaining a website is a time-consuming task that will take some preparation before you implement it into a classroom. Plan ahead carefully and choose your assignments wisely.

FAMILIARIZE YOURSELFBefore implementing a website creation tool into your classroom,it is important to devote extra time to learning the features that Weebly for education has to offer. Be sure to experiment with the site's drop and drag interface. After you have created your individual account, you can add students and the site will auto-generate log-in information for up to 50 students. You will then have the ability to moderate and manage information that students are posting, and you can choose the option of keeping public or private sites for your students.

PART V: MY THOUGHTS ON Weebly
While there are many sites available for creating a website, Weebly is by far my most favorite platform to use. I find Weebly to be extremely user friendly, and I especially love that it has the automatic save function, similar to Google Docs. After you have chosen the theme for your site, you can customize it by changing fonts, pictures, layouts, and more! I especially like that the platform allows you to easily embed media from other sources.
If you haven't already noticed, Weebly is the platform that I have used to create this 21st Century Teaching website. This site, however, was made using the more traditional website platform instead of Weebly for education. The interfaces are slightly different and the Weebly for education site offers a more simple layout to accommodate the learning needs of younger students. I would suggest experimenting with both sites, and then choose the best option for you and your students. If you are looking to only create a website where your students can access information, then this could be the platform for you. If you are more interested in creating student accounts, however, then Weebly for education may be the better option. Whichever option you choose, I highly recommend using Weebly for integrating web design into your classroom.
