PART III: google drive IN THE CLASSROOM
Google Drive is a compilation of features including the ability to create documents, presentations, spreadsheets, forms, and drawings. In addition, Google Drive can also connect you to other cloud based apps that you can add to your drive. Because Google Drive is cloud based, it is a learning tool that students and teachers can use anywhere, anytime, and from any device. Students and teachers alike will enjoy creating and collaborating through the use of Google Drive in the classroom.
PART IV: HOW TO GET STARTED
INTERNET ACCESSYou must have internet access to reach the Google Drive. If your school does not have a 1:1 technology initiative for students, allow your students to bring their own devices so that they can access the internet.
GOogle Email ACCOUNTBoth the teacher and student must have a Google email account in order to access Google Drive. Check to see if your school is connected to Google through email. If you have a teacher Gmail account, then your students most likely have a Gmail account already set up.
PURPOSEAs with the other tech tools, you must decide your purpose for using Google Drive in your classroom. How will your students benefit from the implementation of Google Drive? What skills will students develop through the use of Google Drive? Will they be using it to submit homework? Collaborate in groups? Create presentations? Peer-edit documents? Answering questions like these can help guide you to finding the purpose for Google Drive in your classroom.

PART V: MY THOUGHTS ON Google drive
I can honestly say that the use of Google Drive has made my life much more organized! Just imagine: instead of having an old file cabinet filled with documents, you can now have a digital file cabinet that functions MUCH easier than the old method of filing! There have been many times that I have had to change my lesson plans mid-day simply because I forgot to bring the document I needed to school, or I forgot to bring the one flash drive that has it saved. I am no longer wasting time by searching my multiple USB flash drives looking for that one document that I wanted to assign to my students. I can now log on and and easily locate all of my files.
I love having students create documents through the use of their Google Drive. Through the use of Google Drive, students can submit their assignment without the fear of their dog "eating" their homework. I especially love the feature that Google Drive allows for collaboration. This has made working in groups much easier for my students. I also like that you are able to see who has viewed the document and who is currently viewing the document.
However, the #1 feature that I absolutely LOVE is that Google Drive AUTOMATICALLY saves your progress as you are working! That's right! No more computer crashes and no longer do you have to keep reminding your students to save, save, save, and save again!
If you're ready to try the 21st century way of paperless filing, then you should definitely give Google Drive a try!
